Despite all the imagination architects place in their designs, stairs will always encounter boundaries. They are ruled by the physical human dimension. As a result, the dimension of the steps had to remain quite similar throughout History.  This pop–up book is a visual experience about the relationship between forms and meanings. Words expressed on the stairs echo the different symbolism that stairs embodied in the last centuries.
